Inter-district side grab first win of season

HUDDERSFIE­LD Veterans, sponsored by Bluebird Care Kirklees, recorded their first win of the season in the Yorkshire Inter-district League.

They showed a marked improvemen­t from the draw against Wakefield and the 29-27 loss to Halifax, with an impressive 32-24 success the outcome.

There was a very good performanc­e from the awayteam second four as they recovered from 3-1 down following the first four games.

Huddersfie­ld’s next match is against bottom-placed Castleford next Friday, June 16, when they hope to improve on their worst position in the Interdistr­ict league for a very long time.
