Chiropodist, Matthew Butters (front) adjusts the insoles of Warrington Wolves rugby league players, Toby (left) and George King at his Huddersfield practice Peaks in the Yorkshire Dales.
Then they will drive to Whernside, which they will climb the next day, before moving on to Ingleborough and down to Snowdon in Wales, the last of the National Three Peaks.
Martin, who has done the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge on several occasions, estimates that as the group will be skipping the trek between Pen-y-Ghent and Whernside they will walk nearly 30 miles.
The 57-year-old, who works as a steward in Meltham Liberal Club, said: “We thought we may as well go coast to coast this time.
“We’ll be walking as long as it’s daylight and sleeping on a minibus.
“It won’t be easy but it’ll only be for two days.”
The sponsored walk, which will begin on June 23, will fundraise for dementia charity Alzheimer’s Research UK.
