Saints star Smith expects tough contest
HALF BACK Matty Smith says St Helens will be working hard to keep their winning momentum going as they travel to Huddersfield Giants on Friday in a crunch Betfred Super League tie.
New coach Justin Holbrook’s men, who notched a 26-10 win over Widnes in the last round of Super League, know a win at the John Smith’s Stadium would take them within three points of fifth-placed Wakefield and put a significant gap between them and the bottom four.
Smith said: “Huddersfield are coming into a bit of form, but that is as expected.
“There are no easy games in Super League and we are looking forward to it.
“It is important for us to keep on building, working hard and take every game as it comes.”
The last time the two sides met the Giants snatched a late 14-14 draw at the Langtree Park.
Saints prop Luke Douglas faced a grade A dangerous contact charge from the win over Widnes, but used his early guilty plea and ensure that
