Having qualified at Longwood Bowling Club, skipper Michael Sweeney led his team past Canalside and Slaithwait­e to face Bradley & Colne in the final.

And they swept the board in the two singles and the doubles to take the silverware – sponsored by Broad Oak Bowling Club – with a 56-40 scoreline.

Sweeney and Wayne Dews won the singles in solid style, while father and son pairing Rob and Joe Wiltshire did what was necessary in the doubles.

“It’s massive for us as a club, because we have struggled a bit after losing some of our big star players,” said Sweeney.

“Winning this gives us something to shout about.”
