Delph & Dobcross HOYLANDSWAINE have extended their lead at the top of the Drakes Huddersfield Cricket League.

In the Premiership’s key clash of the round Swaine took six points at home to Moorlands, who had started the day in second place.

Moorlands managed to take two points scoring 177, and the home side had to battle their way home for a two-wicket victory.

Delph & Dobcross moved back into joint second place with Moorlands, 16 points behind the table-toppers.

At home to Kirkburton it was Arran Lilley who took centre stage with a stunning knock of 179.

The Lancashire county all-rounder was aided by a supporting innings of 81 from Mosun Hussain as the home side set 378-7.

Kirkburton offered some resistance as Williamson scored 79, but they were ousted for 169 with Delph’s Proctor claiming four wickets for 43.

Tom Denton hit an unbeaten 102 for Shepley, who took maximum points from a 57-run success at home to Honley after setting 162-6 and then bowling out their rivals for 105.
