Emergency defibrillator installed outside doctors’ surgery
A LIFESAVING defibrillator has been installed outside a Marsh surgery.
Marsh Community Forum raised funds to purchase the vital piece of medical equipment.
The automatic external defibrillator (AED) and cabinet has been installed on the outside of Westbourne Surgery in St James Road.
The equipment can be used by members of the public in the event of someone suffering heart failure.
An opening ceremony was held where denior partner Dr Syred Amiad Iqbal cut the tape to formally bring it into use.
The Community Forum has appointed guardians of the defibrillator who will be responsible for ongoing monitoring and raising funds for consumables such as replacement pads and batteries.
Members of the Forum work with residents and businesses to improve the quality of life for all those who live and work in Marsh. It also backs a campaign to promote a greener environment in Marsh/Edgerton and aims to secure a building for community use to be made available in Marsh.
The next meetings will be held on Tuesday, September 20 and Tuesday, November 15.
