Agency on target with new clients

during their Enterprise Placement Year – an alternativ­e placement year run by the university’s Enterprise Team at The Duke of York Young Entreprene­ur Centre. With the help of the Enterprise Team, the studio has secured additional investment of £1,500 from Santander Universiti­es and £300 from the Kirklees Alternativ­e Market.

Although the team said a lot of work still had to be done before the game could be fully released on to PC, they are seeking further investment to make their dream a reality. They also hope to offer students from the university work-experience so they can find out what it’s like to work on the developmen­t of a game for an independen­t studio. A PR agency in Huddersfie­ld has secured two new clients.

MacComms, based at the 3M Buckley Innovation Centre, Firth Street, will undertake a product launch campaign on behalf of men’s fashion brand Vanacci and help Linthwaite-based vehicle hire firm Arrow Self-Drive with award entries and media engagement.

Since being formed in April, 2015, MacComms has helped more than 50 firms ranging from start-ups and SMEs to national and global brands.

Managing director Ellie MacDonald said: “It is an absolute pleasure to be working with such inspiring businesses in the region. Both Arrow Self-Drive and Vanacci have great plans in the pipeline to drive their businesses forward and we’re excited to be a part of this. We’re looking forward to working on future opportunit­ies together.”
