Kath receives a medal for 30 years’ voluntary work
MONEY raised in the Rotary Club of Brighouse’s annual Tree of Light appeal has been used to purchase two community defibrillators.
The defibrillators, used to save the lives of heart attack victims, are installed outside Colins News near Hipperholme traffic lights and outside Millers Bar in Briggate, Brighouse. They are registered with the Yorkshire Ambulance Service and are available in case of need 24/7.

President of the Rotary Club, Chris Redfearn, arranged a training session for people who had expressed interest in learning more about their use. Staff from Millers Bar, shopkeepers from the parade of shops in Hipperholme, Rotarians and members of Heartbeat, the community defibrillation charity, attended the training session run by John Spikings, community defibrillation trainer.
