Do we want adverts to pop up in BBC shows?

-

REPLYING to Antony Smith’s letter about the BBC, it is perfectly understandable to want a better system of using the money collected to be used for more deserving needs.

Although this is a noble thought can we really imagine any government allowing spare money for the benefit of any one but themselves?

Allowing the fact that the BBC is paying too much to some of its so-called stars, do we really want any more so-called celebrity people, mainly pushed by commercial stations to appease their sponsors?

We do not want adverts halfway through The Blue Planet or Happy Valley. Just imagine Question Time stopping halfway through a topical debate and Dimbleby saying: “We’ll stop for a word from our sponsor and be right back to carry on the debate”.

We wouldn’t want to see any thing like that would we really ? improvement.’ I think everybody in Huddersfield had already reached that conclusion. However, we find they were expecting such a grading.

Surely someone should be looking for a new job, preferably outside the health service.

Carol McKenna the chief officer for the Greater Huddersfield CCG explains it away with typical office speak with phrases like strong leadership, effective partnership working.

Another was: achievement of constitutional targets and work done over the past year to improve performance.

Basically she is talking rubbish. She fails to say sorry, we have failed maternity service, cancer care, mental health care, ambulance wait times and A&E performances.

Also they are rated on financial performance. They can’t even get their figures right in costing the destruction of Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.

I’d hate to think what kind of salary Ms McKenna is on but I’m sure her salary would pay for a dozen or so nurses. for Health – we now read their services are not up to scratch and require improvement! Talk about a double whammy! AS the “silly season” is upon us may I suggest, as my contribution to wooly thinking, that a referendum be held to determine whether the nation should have a second referendum regarding the 2016 referendum.
