News /New route to Iceland

LEEDS Bradford Airport is set to become among the first in the country to offer direct flights to Akureyri in North Iceland.

The airport is launching newly chartered flights, exclusivel­y with Super Break.

The new flights, which launch in February, are part of a special short break package which includes the opportunit­y to go searching for the Northern Lights and visit a number of the region’s other natural wonders.

All Super Break trips to Akureyri also include a Lake Myvatn Adventure – Land of Fire and Ice Tour, which includes the chance to see the Goddafoss Waterfall, the boiling mud pools of Namafjall and a stop at Vogafjos working farm. There is also the opportunit­y to visit Myvatn Nature Baths – the ‘Blue Lagoon of the North’ or take part in a Snowmobili­ng Experience for an extra charge.

Packages, including flights and accommodat­ion, start from £699 per person.
