The 11 handicapper said: “I never expected to get this far and booked a holiday to go to Barcelona.

“This is once in a lifetime opportunity, though, so I’ll definitely be staying on home soil to play.

“The round went really well for me and I dealt with my nerves fantastically.

“As soon as I parred the first hole, my nerves settled and I played some fantastic golf in testing, wet and windy, conditions on the course.

“The tournament has been fantastic so far and I can’t thank Bridgestone and England Golf enough.”

The Bridgestone Tyres Chase your Dream Trophy is an annual event open to members of England Golf’s 1,900 affiliated clubs, and features separate competitions for the men and the women.
