Presentation for big Eorl

-

FORMER England forward Eorl Crabtree will be inducted into the Huddersfield RL Hall Of Fame at tonight’s Giants match against Castleford Tigers.

The 34-year-old, who won 14 international caps and played 423 games scoring 79 tries in 16 years with the Giants first team, was announced as the 22nd player to join the role of honour.

The Huddersfield RL Past Players Association will make the presentation to Crabtree at the Super 8s clash with the 2017 League Shield winners Castleford. ■■Arch-rivals St Helens and Wigan Warriors are set for another memorable derby showdown.

Saints play host to the Warriors in round four of the Super 8s tonight, with the game being billed as the biggest derby clash since the 2014 Grand Final, when Saints eventually claimed a 14-6 win.

The sides go into the game locked together on the same points in the race for the top four and that all-important semi-final berth.

Saints have a superior points difference to Wigan, but both are still a point behind Wakefield Trinity and can ill afford to lose any ground.

Wakefield travel to Salford Red Devils in another crucial game tonight, but the winner of the SaintsWigan meeting will fancy their chances of snatching the last play-off berth and earn a trip to League Leaders Shield winners Castleford.
