Huddersfield’s league crown
THE Lawrence Batley Seniors League circus rocked up at Branshaw Golf Club for their 30th Annual Finals Day.
Huddersfield won the Lawrence Batley Seniors League title with a comprehensive 8-0 win over South Bradford.
South Bradford had given their all in reaching Branshaw with nail-biting play-off victories in both quarter and semi-finals, but on the day the experience of Huddersfield proved to be the decisive factor – they have now won the trophy in five out of the past six seasons.
In the final of the Individual Matchplay competition an almost flawless display from Bradley Hall’s David Stocks saw him secure an 8-6 victory over Huddersfield Seniors captain Eric Lord.
Stocks, a 10-handicap player, was level par gross for the 12 holes he needed to play.
