Barratt builds up team

Ryan Taylor, 19, from Doncaster, begins work at Ashmeade Park in Pontefract as a bricklayer while Elliott Sheard, 18 , of Liversedge, joins as a bricklayer apprentice on the Oaklands development in Pontefract.
Billy Nodder, 23, of Castleford, joins the St Oswald’s View development in Methley while George Stones, 17, of Batley, and Will Ingleby, 19, of Drighlington, will work at St Andrew’s View in Morley as joiners.
The apprentices will be attending Leeds Building College, Wakefield College and Kirklees College respectively to learn the theory behind the practical experience they will gain on site.
The scheme builds on the appointment of five apprentices in 2016. The company has taken on 34 apprentices over the past 10 years.
Barratt Developments’ programme offers vacancies for trade or commercial and technical apprentices.
The firm’s apprenticeship programme was recognised in the Construction Industry Training Board Apprenticeship Awards, by being a Top 100 Apprenticeship Employer and by being named National Apprenticeship Service’s BT Macro Employer of the Year.
