Emley face test against the leaders

-

AFC Emley go into action at home to Knaresborough Town tomorrow night looking to move into the top half of the Northern Counties East League’s First Division.

The Welfare Ground outfit notched their third win of the season when they were 4-2 victors at East Yorkshire Carnegie.

Emley made the perfect start at the Hull side’s Dunswell Park ground when Lewis Dickinson found the net after just 10 minutes.

The visitors were three goals up by half-time as Aaron Joseph scored their second on 34 minutes and just three minutes later Thabiso Magida added a third.

East Yorkshire Carnegie improved in the second period and in the dying stages of the contest threatened to make a game of it.

They pulled a goal back through Daniel Walker on 71 minutes and three minutes from full-time Jordan Harrison added a second.

Any pressure that Emley were feeling vanished in the last minute of the game when Magida notched his second to ensure the three points.

Emley face a big test at the Welfare Ground tomorrow (7.45pm) as Knaresborough top the table and have scored 20 goals and conceded only five as they hold a four-point lead over second-placed Yorkshire Amateur.
