Solicitor’s chance to win prize

A SOLICITOR at a Huddersfie­ld law firm is among the nominees shortliste­d for the fourth annual Yorkshire Asian Business Awards.

Preea Bhullar, a solicitor based in the corporate department at Ramsdens in Huddersfie­ld, is among those competing in the category of Profession­al of the Year at the awards, which take place on Thursday, September 28, at the Cedar Court Hotel in Bradford.

Others shortliste­d include Ravi Sharma, director of Birstall-based pet products supplier Pet Brands, and Jaspal Singh Nijjar, of Euro Direct Internatio­nal Ltd, at Queens Mill Business Centre, Huddersfie­ld – both in the category for Internatio­nal Business of the Year.

Winners last year included Ranjit Uppal, of Switalskis Solicitors in Huddersfie­ld, who won the trophy for Profession­al of the Year.

The awards, hosted by the Yorkshire Asian Business Associatio­n (YABA), will bring together leading members of the Asian business community across the region. The winners will be selected by a panel of judges, including Dewsbury politician Baroness Sayeeda Warsi.

YABA chairman Amarjit Singh said: “We are delighted to announce the shortliste­d nominees for the Yorkshire Asian Business Awards. Our nominees come from a range of industries and businesses – new and emerging, small and large – all of whom make a huge contributi­on to Yorkshire and its proud legacy of enterprise.”
