Solicitor’s chance to win prize
A SOLICITOR at a Huddersfield law firm is among the nominees shortlisted for the fourth annual Yorkshire Asian Business Awards.
Preea Bhullar, a solicitor based in the corporate department at Ramsdens in Huddersfield, is among those competing in the category of Professional of the Year at the awards, which take place on Thursday, September 28, at the Cedar Court Hotel in Bradford.
Others shortlisted include Ravi Sharma, director of Birstall-based pet products supplier Pet Brands, and Jaspal Singh Nijjar, of Euro Direct International Ltd, at Queens Mill Business Centre, Huddersfield – both in the category for International Business of the Year.
Winners last year included Ranjit Uppal, of Switalskis Solicitors in Huddersfield, who won the trophy for Professional of the Year.
The awards, hosted by the Yorkshire Asian Business Association (YABA), will bring together leading members of the Asian business community across the region. The winners will be selected by a panel of judges, including Dewsbury politician Baroness Sayeeda Warsi.
YABA chairman Amarjit Singh said: “We are delighted to announce the shortlisted nominees for the Yorkshire Asian Business Awards. Our nominees come from a range of industries and businesses – new and emerging, small and large – all of whom make a huge contribution to Yorkshire and its proud legacy of enterprise.”
