“The surgery went really well,” revealed Cudjoe.

“I went back down to see the surgeon last week and he’s happy with the way things went, which is good.

“At the moment, I’m just doing a lot of rehab with the physios, which I’m enjoying.

“We’re making some good progress, so I’m pretty happy with it all at the minute.

“I’d had a few issues throughout the year with injuries but, to be honest, this one wasn’t connected with the others. I was just unlucky I suppose.

“At times like this it’s just a case of keeping positive.

“It gives me a chance to get my body right and make sure I come back a better player.”

Halifax have confirmed they will retain Jacob Fairbank for the 2018 season.

Fairbank, the latest member of the fabled Elland rugby league dynasty, has signed a new one year deal with an option for 2019.

The former Huddersfie­ld player, who began his career with the Giants before joining Halifax, will again be a mainstay of coach Richard pack.

Feathersto­ne Rovers have signed former Super League front-rower Scott Wheeldon, who has penned a two-year deal with the club.

Wheeldon lands following a two-season spell with Sheffield Eagles, having previously enjoyed top-flight stints with Hull FC, Hull KR, Castleford and London in a near-300 appearance career.

Sheffield have confirmed the departures of eight players following the end of the season.
