Chance to vote for art winner

HUDDERSFIELD Art Society’s 121st Annual Exhibition is now running at Huddersfield Art Gallery.

There are 108 pictures on show selected by Manchester artist David Stockwell featuring 50 local artists.

The exhibition runs until October 28 and is in Galleries three and four on the top floor of Huddersfield Library. Four prizes were awarded. The Eleanor Sykes Award for best picture went to Jill Moynan for her oil painting Sylvan Glade.

The Pat Pridmore Award for best portrait or life study went to Society President David Whiting for his pastel portrait Roger Reading.

Sylvia Idle won the Calder Graphics Award for best work by a first time exhibitor for her acrylic painting “Secret Places”
