Chance to vote for art win­ner

HUD­DER­S­FIELD Art So­ci­ety’s 121st An­nual Ex­hi­bi­tion is now run­ning at Hud­der­s­field Art Gallery.

There are 108 pic­tures on show se­lected by Manch­ester artist David Stock­well fea­tur­ing 50 lo­cal artists.

The ex­hi­bi­tion runs un­til Oc­to­ber 28 and is in Gal­leries three and four on the top floor of Hud­der­s­field Li­brary. Four prizes were awarded. The Eleanor Sykes Award for best pic­ture went to Jill Moy­nan for her oil paint­ing Syl­van Glade.

The Pat Prid­more Award for best por­trait or life study went to So­ci­ety Pres­i­dent David Whit­ing for his pas­tel por­trait Roger Read­ing.

Sylvia Idle won the Calder Graph­ics Award for best work by a first time ex­hibitor for her acrylic paint­ing “Se­cret Places”
