Prison for woman caught on camera performing sex act
A WOMAN who was caught on camera performing a sex act outside a Huddersfield church made gun gestures as she was sent to prison.
Rasila Akbar was jailed after making no effort to comply with a community order imposed after CCTV operators caught her engaging in oral sex in St Peter’s Gardens in the summer.
Taking issue with the Examiner’s coverage of her case in August, the 42-year-old hurled abuse at a reporter - then made a gun-like gesture towards her when she appeared at Kirklees Magistrats’ Court in Huddersfield.
She ranted: “It [the article] was a very good decision. You’re too right – I’m a very dangerous woman.”
Akbar was caught by Kirklees Council CCTV operators monitoring the town in the early hours of July 14.
They watched as Akbar talked with a number of males before walking to the gardens of Huddersfield Parish Church with one of them and performing oral sex on him. Both were arrested but the man received only a caution because he had no previous police dealings.
The previous hearing at Kirklees Magistrates’ Court was told that the mother-of-three gave a bizarre excuse for her behaviour.
She claimed she’d just married the man after seeing him around town a couple of times. Akbar said they’d just had a ceremony in the area and she agreed to satisfy his sexual frustration.
Other strange offences that Akbar, of Brownroyd Avenue in Rawthorpe, committed, included assaulting her neighbour.
She pushed him after she went around to his flat to complain about his rubbish and he filmed her complaining.
Akbar was also caught with a knife at Dewsbury Railway Station, a staff member spotting the eight-inch blade tucked into the back of her trousers.
Her solicitor, Andy Day, explained that she suffered from bipolar disorder and other psychological issues.
Magistrates originally sentenced her to 14 weeks in custody, suspended for a year. The order included a community order with 25 days of rehabilitation activities.
Akbar breached the order twice on August 30 and September 6 when she failed to turn up for office-based appointments.
She was then arrested after missing a breach hearing and magistrates were told that she showed a pattern of non-engagement with the order.
Magistrates activated Akbar’s suspended sentence, telling her she’d made no effort at all to comply with it.
They added an extra two weeks to the sentence, sending her to prison for a total of 16 weeks.
As she was led away from the secure dock, Akbar demanded to know if the Examiner was present, before claiming that she went by a different name than stated on the official court record and that she was the victim of mistaken identity.
Akbar claimed she did not have three children, then pointed her fingers towards the reporter in a gun-like gesture, imitating pulling a trigger.
She ranted: “You made a very good decision to put my children’s lives at risk. You’re too right, I am a very dangerous woman.”
