Gant cruises way to success at Griffin
CRAIG Gant was the comfortable victor in the latest sixteen at the Griffin.
The bookies short-priced favourite Gant was in great form to beat Mick Higgins in the final 21-8.
Gant showed his class throughout starting with a big win against one of the Griffin’s most long-serving members Ronnie Wormald in first round winning 21-5.
He then met Tongsbridge team- mates Andy Sorsby in the last eight and Nick White in semi-finals.
It looked on paper like it could be a great final between Higgins, who had also shown his class in beating Michael Sweeney and Terry Brook to single figures on route.
However, Gant started off the final playing a good length and took a 7-0 lead.
Higgins never really looked like catching him from there with Gant running out a 21-8 winner.
