Holmfirth Harriers women’s team in action at the West Yorkshire Cross Country league meeting in Keighley (from left) Lucy Byram, Erica Byram, Ruby Sykes, Helen Berry and Claire Leaver-Hewitt , and below Lewis Byram (inset Left) and Dvae Watson (onset right) ran well to finish first and first V40 (19.55), taking her agegroup series title as well.
Lucy Byram put in a valuable performance in her first race of the league in third, being first Under 20 (20.06).
Those two were well supported by Ruby Sykes in fifth (20.30) and Erica Byram in eighth (20.53), and the team won convincingly, some 31 points ahead of second-placed York Knavesmire.
Other Holmfirth results: 10 Claire Leaver-Hewitt (21.05), 34 Amy Kettlewell (23.13), 48 and 1st W60 Lesley Ewart (24.36), 79 Ann Smith (35.07).

A good turn out in the senior race saw Holmfirth win second team on a short but tough course.
With the absence of Aaron Kettlewell it was up to another talented junior, Lewis Byram, to lead the challenge with a strong run in fourth and second Under 20 (26.01),
Dave Watson made his usual contribution with a solid run to finish in 11th and second M45 (27.00).
Another veteran, Steve Green, ran well for 30th and third M45 (28.36), while being pushed hard by Phil Hewitt in 33rd (28.53).
Lavell Pierre was next home in 40th (29.37), closely followed by Dan Shaw in 42nd (29.42).
This gutsy team performance also ensured a well-earned second team place in the four-race series.
