A JOBS fair is being hosted by the MP for Denby Dale and Kirkburton.

Paula Sherriff has arranged for a careers event at Dewsbury Job Centre later this month.

She said: “The fair will welcome both local and national businesses and organisations to the constituency and they will be displaying the career opportunities that they have on offer for people of all ages and qualification.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for people in the town to network and talk with organisations and hopefully find a job.

“I have really enjoyed working with businesses small and large to put together this event and I look forward to meeting people from across the constituency looking for employment at the fair.”

Organisations attending include Yorkshire Water, Asda, Transpennine Express, Kirklees College, Connect Housing, and others.

The free event is on Friday, January 26 at Dewsbury Job Centre from 2pm until 4pm.

To attend, register via the Eventbrite website.

She invited the pupils of her late mum’s school to a performance of the musical, which tells the story of making it big on Broadway at the Theatre Royal, the biggest theatre in the West End.

Following the show, which was also watched on the night by Catherine Zeta Jones, the pupils were treated to a backstage tour by Courtney, who also gave them a short impromptu dance workshop while they were on stage.

The new version of the 42nd Street opened last April and has been watched by a huge range of high profile celebrities and royalty including; Kate Middleton, Morgan Freeman, Victoria Beckham and Hilary Swank to name a few.

Donna George tragically died from a suspected brain haemorrhage aged just 48 in 2013.
