Developmen­t side book last four cup place

HUDDERSFIE­LD Town Ladies Developmen­t booked a place in the semi-finals of the Sheffield & Hallamshir­e Challenge Cup with a 6-1 away win at Rotherham United.

Town dominated from start to finish and, after an early Katie Halligan penalty was brilliantl­y saved, Tara Duce put Town ahead when linking with Ella McCamon.

Amy Broomhead finished off a fine move and McCamon made it three at the interval.

Rose Priestley volleyed in her second of the season before Duce and McCamon got their second goals of the game – Jodie Lodge was voted player of the match.

The Developmen­t team are at home to Leeds Utd Reserves tomorrow (2pm).

The Academy beat Millmoor Juniors 4-1 at home to move within two points of leaders Barnsley Ladies.

Player of the match, Eleanor Smith, gave Town a second-minute lead, but the second didn’t come until 20 minutes from time through sub Robyn Harris.

Millmoor pulled one back, but Town secured the points with another strike from Harris and a Macy Ellis effort.

Tomorrow the Academy travel to AFC Dronfield (2pm).

Town Under 16s beat Sheffield United 5-0 in the League Cup first round.

After a goalless first half, Town were given the lead by Courtney Livsey before Macy Ellis made it two.

Harriett Waller hit a post before Ellis netted the third.

Jess Barrow got the fourth before an own goal completed the scoring – the Under 16s travel to Barnsley today (11am).

Town Ladies Under 14s were 10-0 winners against Dronfield Town in the League Cup second round.

Tamara Wilcock opened the scoring before Mia Harris netted a penalty after being fouled herself.

Harris added a third in the 20th minute but Town had to wait until the second half for their next, through Alex McKie.

Player of the match Wilcock made it 5-0 and a minute later, Harris completed her hat trick.

Chloe Latham made it 7-0 with 13 minutes remaining and then Wilcock completed her hat trick just four minutes later.

Wilcock then scored the goal of the game with a tremendous volley before netting another in the final minute.

Today they are at home to joint leaders AFC Pogmoor (10.30).

Town Under 12s lost 6-0 at Sheffield United in the League Cup second round.

Town never got out of first gear and their player of the match was keeper Grace Redfern.

The Under 12s are at home to the same opposition in the league today (10.30).

Town’s Under 10s were 3-0 winners at Crosspool in a League Cup final group game.

Player of the match Sienna Beaumont gave Town a half-time lead, before goals from Sienna Noble and Evie Frank sealed the win.

They have no game this weekend.
