Opposition parties are not living in real world

This is going to open the floodgates for everyone to claim whether it be those they are chasing after or people caught up. Robert Wagner, actor, Roberta Flack, singer, Peter Purves, TV presenter/actor Mark Spitz, Olympic swimming champion, Greg Norman, golfer, Laura Dern, actress, Garrett Reisman, former astronaut, Keeley Hawes, actress Chloe Grace Moretz, actress, REGARDING the opposition parties on Kirklees Council opposing the proposed 6% Council Tax rise it’s typical of them.

They want their cake and eat it. They want to keep the council tax rise to 5%, yet increase spending at the same time.

The sums don’t simply add up. Without extra funding from central government the council has to increase council tax or make further cuts.

It goes to show that the opposition parties haven’t a clue as to how a council should be run. FOR more than three years we have been ‘lobbying’ both our elected Labour councillors, the Cabinet member responsible for Highways, and the Head of Service for much needed improvements to a vital Colne Valley link-road which is Midway in South Crosland, that can only be described as totally neglected and requires urgent remedial action!

We have attended several meetings, written countless emails, provided photographic evidence and lobbied all concerned to get absolutely nowhere with our elected ward representatives failing to get engaged in our village’s support! Hence we have now complained directly to Thelma Walker MP over this ward’s neglect of our roads and on-going housing campaign and sincerely hope at the May 2018 elections the people of our twin villages can elect someone who cares about our twin villages’ vital services and infrastructure and picks up the Kirklees gauntlet as quite frankly this unacceptable political farce cannot be allowed to continue!
