Division Two: Woodfield Park B 5 (David Bowers 3, Derek Moorhouse 1, Janet West 1) Marsh Con C 5 (David Blackburn 1, Ed Bowen 2, Bob Sanderson 1)

Division Three: Marsh Con D 8 (Alan West 2, John Hall 2, Glyn Normanton 3) Deighton Leisure Centre F 2 (Sarah Amin 2); Deighton Leisure Centre F 4 (Nigel Pinnock 1, Ryan Moon 2, Lennox Cadore 1) U3A A 6 (Andy Parker 3, Steve Caulfield 2) Huddersfield Table Tennis League officials (from left) Janet Adams (League President), Tim Dyson (League Chairman) and Rob Hand (MD of League Sponsor Louis France Ltd) couple of occasions at 3-1 and 4-2 but, from then on, the match was a close fought affair as the teams could not be separated. David Bowers gained his first maximum of the season for Woodfield Park.

In Division Three, Deighton Leisure Centre F were involved in a couple of rearranged matches.

In the first of those matches Marsh Con D were the victors as Alan West (2), John Hall (2), Glyn Normanton (3) and a West and Normanton doubles gave the Marsh side a comfortable 8-2 win.

The result leaves the Marsh team in a strong position at the top end of the divisional table.

Another team challenging at the top of this division is U3A A and they enjoyed a narrow victory over Deighton with Andy Parker (3) and Steve Caulfield (2), plus a Parker and Caulfield doubles, the scorers.

The match was tied at 4-4, but Parker and Caulfield each won their final singles sets.

U3A may struggle to maintain their challenge for the promotion places as they are likely to miss the services of Andy Parker for a number of weeks, plus another regular member of the team, Doug Holt, is struggling to take part in matches.
