-

merger of KNH and Kirklees Council’s building services. Social housing provider KNH achieved a rating of “excellent” in the Safe Mark audit – the highest possible score.

To achieve this, KNH had to consistently demonstrate its commitment to maintaining the strictest safety standards and rigorous safety management systems at its construction sites and depots across the district.

The recent audit included a detailed inspection of health and safety management systems and operational practices at property services’ sites around Kirklees.

Phil Moulson, health and safety adviser for NHBC, said: “Overall, the health and safety management system operated by Kirklees Neighbourhood Housing is excellent.

“They continue to recognise that this is achieved by investing in their people, fit-for-purpose systems and user-friendly policies, as well as a culture of continuous improvement. Their approach should be applauded as the gold standard in health and safety management.”

KNH chief executive Liz Cook said: “This really is a great achievement for our property services team and for KNH.

“The health and safety of our people, our tenants and our working environment is of the utmost importance to us.

“Our teams work tirelessly to ensure this and it’s fantastic to see it recognised yet again by an independent audit through the NHBC.”
