Great work experience
CREATIVE & Media Studio School student Georgina Cooper had the opportunity of working as a dresser and shadowing the costume designer for the recent professional production of Aladdin at the Victoria Theatre, Halifax.
Georgina was an invaluable member of the backstage team and aspires to be a costume designer.
Having already worked on the production of Les Miserables in aid of murdered Batley & Spen MP, Jo Cox and lots of youth theatre productions, Georgina, from Brighouse, is well on her way to achieving her dream role.
She manages to balance the demands of college life with working alongside some of the country’s leading theatre costumiers.
She also has her own Instagram page for all things theatre and costumes @ sew_theatre
Business engagement leader, Sarah Timberley, said: “This was such an amazing opportunity for Georgina. We wholeheartedly encourage all students to gain relevant work experience to improve their chances of pursing their chosen career.
“Creativity, employability and enterprise skills are at the heart of everything we do in the Creative and Media Studio School at Rawthorpe Terrace and these experiences mirror our ethos. Well done, Georgina.”
