Martial arts club eager to share new premises

THE vacant Lloyds Bank building in Milnsbridg­e is up for sale at an auction tomorrow, March 28.

Bramleys estate agent says the premises, on Market Street, are suitable for conversion and investment purposes, subject to obtaining the necessary planning permission.

The guide price for the freehold property is £99,500. The building includes staff facilities and partitione­d offices and basement stores.

The property comprises a single-storey thousands of pounds on its new facility.

Mr Wood said members were aged from six to 50 and over.

“This new place is a massive step for us and we are really excited about it. We are hoping to get other clubs in to share the space for training.”

The club offers a range of classes including self-defence and tuition for junior and senior members.

Instructor­s include Nick Bentley, Karen Mitchell, Rhona Warnock, Paul Wood and Nicola Dodson.

Members of the taekwondo club meet twice a week at The Mill. The entrance is on Royd Street.
