Monkey Fest proceeds presented to Keep It Up

■■An offside window was smashed on a Toyota Townace van parked on Bankfield Terrace. A radio CD player was stolen, but later recovered and handed back to the victim, on March 6 in the late evening. ■■A Volkswagen Lupo car was jacked up and all four wheels stolen while parked on Bankfield Terrace. Both rear windows were damaged and a dent was caused to the rear offside bodywork by the jack. Suspects fled the scene in an unknown direction, leaving all their tools behind, on March 6 at 10.15pm. were cheered by the attendance recently of Huddersfie­ld Town legend Andy Booth and Keiran O’Regan, (ex-HTAFC).

Gareth Shaw presented a cheque for £1,000 to the Huddersfie­ld Town’s Keep It Up campaign supporting the Yorkshire Air Ambulance along with other local charities.

This money was raised at last year’s annual Monkeyfest Beer Festival. It is hoped to raise funds again this year, when the festival will be held on Saturday, 7, and Sunday, 8, July. Incredibly, more than £1.7 million has been raised by the Keep It Up campaign since its inception in 2009.

The Monkey Club is renowned for the quality of its ale and in 2009 was named the top real ale club in the country – for the third year running.
