-

Phil Gostling says a lot of great people are doing a lot of fine work at Lockwood Park. Below: Head coach Gareth Lewis very dynamic with a lot of great people doing a lot of fine work behind the scenes to make it all happen.

“On and off the field the folk at Huddersfield are the salt of the earth.”

The club will look to appoint a successor during the closed-season, ready for the next pre-season.

Meanwhile, Huddersfield are staging a Yorkshire Under 20 match on Sunday (2.15).

It’s a big match for the White Rose side – a quarter-final of the National County Championship against East Midlands.

Yorkshire are bidding for a fourth successive win in the championship.

Former fly half Chris Bell, now playing in Australia following his move to Hull Ionians at the end of last season to play in National 1, played in the 2015 and 2016 finals, captaining the winning teams at Twickenham.

Huddersfield flanker Lewis Bradley played alongside Bell in the 2016 final and also appeared in last year’s success, when Yorkshire beat Durham 14-7 in the showpiece.

There are two other matches to note at Lockwood Park this weekend, both on Saturday.

Firstly, on pitch one, the Huddersfield Giants Scholarship side take on Wakefield Trinity (2pm), which is a pay on the gate rugby league game.

Then the Huddersfield A play Halifax in their rugby union derby on pitch two (3pm).
