In Daykin hands

SUNDAY marks the first game of the season for Yorkshire, the current British Crown Green Ladies County Champions, when they meet North Lancs & Fylde.

The two teams last met in 2010 with Yorkshire emerging the victors, as they will be aiming to do this year in a bid to retain the Championship title.

The home green is at Lockwood Con, while the away team travel to Ashton BC, Preston.

Supporters will be welcome at both venues, with games starting at 2pm and refreshments available.

At Ashton BC: Nichole THE Huddersfield Ladies Bowling League Olive Parr Pairs was won by Pat Hodgson and Ann Smith.

The beat Pauline Wilde and Anne Hinchliffe 21-15 in a close final at Jackson Bridge. There was excellent bowling all day. Jackson Bridge were thanked for hosting the event - the committee, measurers, organisers as well as players and supporters.
