He has represented Honley, Kirklees, West Yorkshire, Yorkshire and the Yorkshire and Humber Region on many occasions and will again be wearing the West Yorkshire Schools’ vest at the English Schools Championships in Birmingham in July.
His immediate focus is now on achieving the European Qualifying standard for the discus, this being 53m, but 56m being required to secure team GB selection for the championships.
England Athletics have invited Thomas to compete at two major events at Bedford International Stadium this year, where it is hoped he may achieve the distances needed and be able to compete in the European Under 18 Championships in Gyor, Hungary in July.
