New energy firm to help tackle bill rises

NE of Huddersfield’s leading installers of intruder alarm, CCTV and fire alarms has completed one of its biggest ever takeovers.

Carlton Alarms, which is based at Berry Brow, which operates throughout Yorkshire and Lancashire, servicing and installing all types of security, fire and CCTV systems, has acquired well-established firm Armco Security with premises in St Thomas’ Street, Huddersfield.

The Armco deal is Carlton’s sixth acquisition in its history. Carlton Littleford, managing director at Carlton Alarms, said “When Armco approached us with the opportunity to acquire their firm, we were delighted.

“It was such a good opportunity for us, fitting in perfectly with our continuing journey of growth. Armco are one of Huddersfield’s most established security firms with an excellent reputation which goes hand in hand with the service that we deliver here at Carlton Alarms.”

Mr Littleford said that as a result of the acquisition and further strategic growth plans, Carlton Alarms had a number of employment opportunities available. HE search is on to find Yorkshire and Humber’s most inspiring young surveyors.

Nominations are invited for the annual RICS Matrics Young Surveyor of the Year Awards (YSOYA).

The competition celebrates young talented surveyors, trainees and apprentices aged 35 and under who are helping to improve and advance local communities.

The awards also recognise the influential future leaders of the surveying profession.

Nine award categories cover a variety of surveying disciplines, including asset and facilities management, project management and quantity surveying.

There’s also an Apprentice of the Year accolade to celebrate future talent coming into the industry through the apprenticeship route.

The top award will be the RICS Matrics UK Young Surveyor of the Year title.

Entries are welcomed from individuals themselves or from colleagues or employers.
