Daniel’s racing ahead after funding success

– but looked unlikely to continue his winning form with a lack of financial backing putting his season at risk.

Thankfully, a last minute reprieve with a new personal backer coming on-board means the 26-year-old will compete on the iconic 1.2 mile Indy circuit this weekend.

Daniel said: “I’m so happy to be racing again this weekend. It’s been a dream season so far for us ontrack, but away from the circuit it’s been a really hard slog trying to track down the funding to keep racing.

“It’s frustratin­g to be in a position where you are leading a major championsh­ip and also then at risk of not being able to take that forward to the next round. I’m incredibly MURDER mysteries penned by Huddersfie­ld crime-writing duo Bob and Carol Bridgestoc­k are back in print.

A new novel and backlist titles by the couple – who write as RC Bridgestoc­k – will be published by The Dome Press next year.

Revised editions of the early books in the DI Jack Dylan series will be released in 2019 alongside a brand new mystery featuring the detective.

Rebecca Lloyd, publisher from The Dome Press, said: “We’re thrilled to have this opportunit­y to work with Bob and Carol and to give this hugely popular series a new lease of life.”

Between them Bob and Carol Bridgestoc­k have almost 50 years’ experience with West Yorkshire Police.

Marsden-born Bob spent 30 years with the force, beginning as a beat grateful to have our newest backer on-board for the Brands Hatch races.

He continued: “We’ve had a really positive response from our last release reaching out for new partners and as a result a new supporter came forward and has helped secure our grid spot for this weekend. constable in 1974.

He retired in 2004 with the rank of detective superinten­dent.

Carol spent 17 years on the same force as a support worker.

In his last three years with the force Bob took charge of 26 murders.

He also led the inquiry into the arson attack on the Chishti family in Birkby in 2002 which killed eight people including three young children.

In 2008, Bob and Carol turned some of their experience­s into a book, Deadly Focus.

Last year, they featured in a 10-part TV series, Written in Blood, for CBS Reality, focusing on authors inspired by real-life crimes.

They also lend their services as advisors on many TV and film crime dramas, including the BBC’s Happy Valley.

“We’ve had a few enquiries from potential new partners and, looking ahead, we’re far more optimistic about being able to complete the rest of the season.”

Rounds 5 and 6 of the TCR UK series take place on the Brands Hatch Indy Circuit, Kent, today and tomorrow. Today plays host to the afternoon’s free practice session at 1.25pm before heading into the 30 minute qualifying session at 4.20pm.
