Bridge hit form to top the league
SOLID home form at a very wet Mount Skip enabled Hebden Bridge, winners by 6-2 over Blackley, to climb to the top of the Lawrence Batley Seniors League.
Amazingly, only six points separate top from bottom in Section A, with no fewer than five teams on 15 points.
There were draws for Lightcliffe and Huddersfield at Bradford Moor and Bradley Park respectively and a narrow home win for Silkstone against South Bradford.
In Section B, Crosland Heath retained their unbeaten record with a 7-1 home victory over challengers South Leeds, whilst Dewsbury District, Hanging Heaton and Todmorden all won at home as well, keeping mid-table positions quite tight.
Section C is incredibly close, with the top five teams covered by a single point.
West End sneaked to the top despite losing a close match at Queensbury, with previous leaders Branshaw losing more heavily at Low Laithes.
Meltham and Halifax shared the spoils in a reversed fixture while Crow Nest Park beat Outlane by the narrowest of margins.
Oldham took advantage of the postponement of the match between the two early Section D leaders.
They beat Saddleworth 8-0, meaning an away team has yet to score a point at Oldham.
A convincing home win for Elland and a draw for Calverley at Ryburn completed the section fixtures. Results: Section A: Bradford Moor 4 Lightcliffe 4, Bradley Park 4 Huddersfield 4, Hebden Bridge 6 Blackley 2, Silkstone 5 South Bradford 3.
