Young Charlie Jakeman collected four for 23 in seven overs as Honley bowled out Moorlands for 78 to take their place in the last eight of the second XI knockout.

Isaac Eustance also took two for 17 in nine before hitting 29 not out and knocking off the required total with Martin Green (45 not out).

Holders Kirkburton went through against Barkisland, putting up 207-8 thanks to Ben Carrington 70, Tom Cliffe 52 and Tom Burkinshaw 39.

Seth Oddy, who took three for 37, replied with 36 at the top of the order, but most of his colleagues fell for single figures as they were sent back for just 97, Aaron Moore taking four for 17 and Robert Kettlewell four for 34.

Shepley were indebted to an unbeaten 104 from Huw Ellis off 90 balls including 12 fours and five sixes in knocking out Edgerton & Dalton.

Edgerton & Dalton put up 249-9 with 82 from Fazal Rahman and 95 from Nadeem Rafiq, with Ali Reza taking three for 42 for the visitors.

Reza then hit 56 not out to help Ellis take Shepley to victory after Sam Haigh had contribute­d 60.

John Ashton was another to hit a century in Hoylandswa­ine’s win over Armitage Bridge, scoring 148 off 113 deliveries (21 fours and six sixes) as they totalled 278 all out.

Ashton then picked up two wickets and Josh Holmes three as the Bridge were all out for 202, Darren Hinchliffe scoring 76.

Dale Brooke scored an unbeaten 60 as Broad Oak edged past Golcar by two wickets, while Delph defended 139 to knock out Cawthorne.

Elland conceded their tie at Skelmantho­rpe.
