Campagin to help homeless young

Victoria Hampson, RICS regional director, said: “The Homeless Reduction Act is a crucial step in the right direction, but on its own, it isn’t enough.

Paul Morrish, chief executive of LandAid, added: “Nobody today should be homeless and we hope through the Pledge150 campaign we can encourage the wider property industry to make a real positive difference by raising funds to deliver more homes for young homeless people, and give them the fresh start they need to then gain employment or training and improve their overall well-being.”

Clifton Trade Bathrooms, which already has 14 showrooms across the UK — including ones in Preston, Blackpool, Oldham, Bury, Warrington, Stoke, Chester, Leeds and Stockport – will open its latest depot in July at Whitehall Mill, Leeds Road.

Constructi­on work for the new showroom started in early April. It will also lead to the creation of six new jobs including that of depot manager Matt Cohen.

Mr Cohen said: “All of our depots are located in the North of England and this location is a hot spot for trade as it was the old Howden’s building. Our whole business is set-up to support local tradesmen. We insist on ‘no call-back’ quality products, all in stock to take away and promise to be the best local trade price.”
