Teale leads Masters’ record-breaking haul

Diane Kaye won golds in the 200m Freestyle and 400m Freestyle, while Sally Shields continued her dominance in the Breaststroke events with two gold medals.
Beatrix Langara took two golds with impressive new personal best times, Carolyn Irvine, Wendy Offord, Sean O’Flaherty and Brian Godfrey took golds in the 100m Backstroke.
Rachel Whitwell, Joanne Brook and Robert Kelly took Gold in the Individual Medley events.
Stephen Bottomley - normally an open water swimmer - took gold in the 100m Freestyle along with Carolyn Irvine in the women’s event.
Swimmers from all over the country - Hull, Sunderland, Manchester, Newcastle, Lichfield and Lincoln, as well as all the Yorkshire swimming clubs with masters squads – converged on Leeds.
In the eight team events, Bok picked up seven golds and a silver.
All of the swimmers produced new best times or at least matched their previous bests, however some managed new BoK Records, 16 in total. BOK Masters records: 50m freestyle: 40-44yrs Susan Teale 29.43 (old record Vikki Wilford 31.33, 2016); 65-69yrs Diana Kaye 42.48.
