THE Colne Valley Federation team are back in action this Sunday as they take on local rivals Barnsley in their Division 1 clash.

Broad Oak Bowling Club play hosts for the Valley side as they look to back up a positive opening win against Wallasey.

The game gets under way at the slightly later time of 3pm owing to the England World Cup match v Panama.

Reigning champions Yorkshire had an allHudders­field team (sponsored by Damart Ltd) in the home match at Marsh United, where they won 220-192.

The away team travelled to Swadlincot­e Catholic Club and won 225-193, getting off to a great start with Alexis Lunn-Gadd (Ossett FH) winning 21-11 after being 13-10 down.

Helen Gilroy (Rufford Park) ran out from 16-9 down and Nicole Farrar (Whitkirk) set a cracking pace with a 9-0 lead to emerge a winner at 21-10.

Debbie Talbot (New Mill) sealed the day with a stunning 21-5 win.

In the home team, captain Linda Gledhill (New Mill) set things up with a great 21-4 win and Fern Beaumont (New Mill) won 21-12.
