It was something of a shock as they play in the Littlewood Cup in the Ballcraft Engravers Huddersfie­ld League, which is the third division of the league.

However, they certainly didn’t play like third division bowlers as they swept aside opposition from the top division.

Final: Crosland Moor B 54 Lindley BC 61 (Wayne Moseley 21 Dave Allen 19, Ray Whitwam 20 Nathan Hartley 21, Liam Fallas & Sean Price 13 Carl Allen & George Turton 21). THE first qualifying round of the Lindley £2000 is on Friday, June 29.

It’s a 6.30pm start with practice from 6pm and the main sponsor this year is Travel Councillor­s of Lindley.

There will be £600 for the winner on July 29 and £50 each for bowlers getting to the last 16.

Last year’s winner Graeme Wilson is in action on July 7.
