Underbank Rangers hoping to keep their momentum rolling along

-

UNDERBANK Rangers are looking to continue an impressive run of victories as they take on high-flyers West Hull in Saturday’s National Conference Premier clash.

Underbank will move to within one point of their opponents should they win the home match (kick off 1pm). Spectators can take full advantage of an all-day barbecue as well as a £2 a pint offer at the bar.

Those who want to watch England take on Sweden in the World Cup need not be disappointed either. A big screen will show the 3pm match after Underbank and West Hull finish the game.

Underbank will be full of confidence heading into this one after a dominating 44 - 4 away win against struggling Wigan St Patricks last Saturday.

This was preceded by two impressive victories against Siddal and Normanton Knights.

Meanwhile, West Hull will be coming into the match off the back of a 56 - 12 home destruction of bottom of the table Myton Warriors.

Underbank coach Richard Knight is under no illusions as to how tough Saturday will be but feels his squad has enough to cause West Hull problems.

“We have gone really well over the last three weeks so we are feeling confident we can push West Hull all the way this Saturday.

“They are a good team with some ex pros in.

“They sit third in the table but if our boys play with the same desire and work ethic this week as they have the during previous three matches then there should be an upset on the cards.”

Kinght will be going in to Saturday’s game with a few players missing. He said: “Alex Chatterton will be touch and go with his shoulder and Danny Hirst is no good.

“Dave Pawson is probably another week away but apart from those three we are fully fit.”

Knight welcomes Andy Boothroyd back in at nine after a man of the match performance two weeks ago at home to Siddal and the coach was full of praise for the talented hooker.

“He is that good he just plays when he wants and doesn’t look like he’s every been away,” he said.
