Chloe earns a national industry award and grant

FAMILY-RUN business which has been moving people to places for 30 years has been named a winner.

Linthwaite-based Arrow Self Drive was the winner of the Eaton Smith Business of the Year Award 2018 in recognitio­n of its achievemen­ts as the largest independen­tly-owned car, van, minibus and truck rental company in Yorkshire. The company has more than 2,000 vehicles in its fleet.

Almost 200 business people from Kirklees, Calderdale and Wakefield gathered at the Cedar Court Hotel, Ainley Top, to congratula­te the winner and runners-up in the annual Chloe was invited to attend an interview in London where she impressed the judges talking about her role at PMG and aspiration­s for her career as well as explaining how the training grant would help her progress.

Chloe, who lives in Dewsbury, has been invited to attend a celebrator­y event in July at the House of Lords alongside the other winning applicants.

She joined PMG Print Management in 2013 as an apprentice, completing level two and three in business administra­tion. In 2015, she progressed to a permanent position in the Design Studio as a studio and production administra­tor.

PMG won the IPIA’s Print Management Company of the Year three years running.

Chloe said: “I am thrilled to have been awarded this grant to help me further my career in the print industry. Having worked at PMG for competitio­n run by the Huddersfie­ld-based law firm.

The first runner-up was workplace safety specialist Hunter Safety Solutions, based at Glasshough­ton, near Wakefield. The second runner-up was direct mailing business Propack Direct Mail Ltd, based at Old Fieldhouse Lane in Huddersfie­ld. The awards almost five years, I am delighted to be given the opportunit­y to complete training which will provide me with the skills to progress.”

PMG managing director Mike Roberts said: “The whole team is were presented by Huddersfie­ld Giants chairman Ken Davy.

The competitio­n, now in its 23rd year, is run by Eaton Smith in conjunctio­n with the Bradleybas­ed Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce and the Department for Internatio­nal Trade. The awards draw together the 12 winners of Eaton Smith’s monthly awards. very proud of Chloe. “We’re so pleased that she’s been awarded this prestigiou­s grant. Chloe is a great asset to our team and we can’t wait to continue seeing her thrive in her career here at PMG.”

Event host Mike Webb, senior partner at Eaton Smith, said: “What all the monthly winners have in common is diligence, flair and a determinat­ion to carve out a profitable niche in unexplored areas of their individual market places and, for that, they are all to be congratula­ted.” MIRFIELD-BASED supplier of second-hand vehicle components has demonstrat­ed its support for Huddersfie­ld Town by becoming one of the club’s Huddersfie­ld Hundred.

SS Components has clients and shipping destinatio­ns including Europe, America and Asia. In 2014, the firm received a Green Apple Award – gold category – at the Houses of Parliament for environmen­tal best practice.

Managing director John Smith said: “I am delighted to now become an official partner of the club. Looking at it from a supporters’ perspectiv­e, I couldn’t be happier with how the club has developed since Dean Hoyle took over and continues to go from strength to strength.

“The whole team on and off the pitch are together and this has become more evident in our discussion­s. I am looking forward to another new season in the Premier League supporting the Terriers.”

Town commercial manager John Williams said: “I’m thrilled to welcome SS Components as part of the Huddersfie­ld Hundred. They are an establishe­d local business and lifelong supporters of the club. You will see their brand more over the course of the season and I look forward to working with them over the next 12 months.”
