THE last qualifier for the Marsh United £2000 Competitio­n final, sponsored by LWC Wholesaler­s Ltd, is John Greenhalgh (Crosland Moor BC), who beat David Scott (Keighley) 21-18 to go through.

There is a £800 prize waiting for the eventual winner, with prize money percolatin­g down to £100 for first-round losers in the final.

Also available is a £50 prize for the biggest break of the evening.

Note, the final night is Saturday, August 4 (6pm practice, 6.30 start) and not this coming weekend.

Admission is free and food and drink will be available at the bar and in the kitchen. ■■A total of 21 teams competed in the preliminar­y round of the Colne Valley 4-man Team Knockout (sponsored by Marsh United BC) last night, with four teams qualifying for the final.

The final is at Marsh United on tomorrow evening, July 27, with a 6.45pm start.

Admission is free and food and drink will be available at the bar. ■■The President’s Cup will take place this Sunday at Huddersfie­ld RUFC Bowling Club.

It’s a Noon start with the draw to be done on the day.
