Award is sweet music for Allegro Optical...

Allegro Optical caters for all optical clients, both private and NHS, but also specialise­s in eye care for musicians. The firm now works with musicians from major internatio­nal orchestras including The Dublin RTE Concert Orchestra, The Halle Orchestra, English National Ballet Philharmon­ic and English National Opera.

Thanks to word of mouth recommenda­tions the team at Allegro Optical has already welcomed its 1,000th customer, just 15 months after opening in Station Street, Meltham. Having started with just three members of staff 15 months ago, Allegro Optical now employ 11 people.

Allegro Optical co-founder and finance director Stephen Tighe set up three successful businesses before launching Allegro.

Sheryl said: “I’m thrilled to win the award and it is as much for Steve and the team as me. Everyone within the business is very dedicated and it is thanks to their hard work that Allegro Optical has been so successful.

“We wanted to bring a change to musicians’ eyecare and with Allegro Optical we’re doing just that. Helping to extend a performer’s career.”
