produced a wonderful display.

From the restart, Joe O’Dowd won the ball and after Sykes hit the bar, the ball was worked out to h’Oinsin who calmly kicked over for a point.

Gabriel Moore then kicked a point before h’Oinsin added from the left.

And it was timely that Michael Cornelly, who showed bulldog spirit, kicked over the best point of the game to level it.

Brothers Pearse never looked back – head coach Andrew Kitterick put in a composed performance from the back and Jakob Garside’s gut-bursting tackles symbolised how much the victory meant.

h’Oinsin slotted over his fourth point from the left before Gervin set off from half way to hammer a goal with 15 minutes to go.

However, when Fearghal Cross was shown a straight red card, York regained the impetus heading into the final stages and reduced the deficit.

Brothers Pearse rallied, thougn, and England Rugby League Head Physiotherapist Dave O’Sullivan used his 6ft 5in to good use after a ball was palmed out as he slotted home a goal to make the lead four.

York pressed but Kitchen produced two terrific saves and then saved the best to last, making an acrobatic save to keep the ball out of the top right corner. After a point from York brought the game into a one-score game, Kitchen added a brilliant 45’ to wrap up the win.

Brothers Pearse scorers: Conor Sykes – 2:01; Cathal h’Oinsin – 1:04; Dion Gervin – 1:00; Dave O’Sullivan – 1:00; Gabriel Moore – 0:01; Michael Cornelly – 0:01; George Kitchen – 0:01.
