Lump hammer found in man’s car after crash

SCHOOL fields have been cleaned up for the summer holidays thanks to a team led by West Yorkshire Police.

The fields, behind Walpole Road in Crosland Moor, have been spruced up by officers with the help of Kirklees Neighbourh­ood Housing, Kirklees Council, Oaks Primary School and local volunteers.

The work was part of an ongoing police drive to tackle anti-social behaviour and nuisance bikers in Crosland Moor, which has been running since April.

West Yorkshire Police said during this time, four bikes had been seized and there has been high visibility patrols of police officers and PCSOs who are engaging with the local communitie­s and also as a reassuranc­e to the public.

The force is running a community happened on March 10, Kirklees Magistrate­s’ Court was told.

A lump hammer is a small lightweigh­t sledgehamm­er, normally used for light demolition work and for use with a steel chisel when cutting stone or metal.
