Countdown to Ivy opening begins... R

ENOWNED restaurant The Ivy restaurant is opening in Leeds this autumn and the countdown to a fabulous new dining experience has begun.

The Ivy Victoria Quarter will be split across two floors, with the main restaurant, two terraces and a central bar.

The brasserie will serve breakfast, brunch, lunch, afternoon tea, light snacks and dinner and will also offer a menu of specially crafted cocktails.

Dishes teased by the company include avocado and spinach Benedict and hot buttermilk pancakes, as well as a main menu featuring whole baked seabass with baby plum tomatoes, fennel, Nocellara olives and a caper and shallot dressing, brioche crumbed chicken Milanese and The Ivy shepherd’s pie.

The new Ivy will have room for 240 guests and is set to open in a listed building in Vicar Lane, which is part of the Victoria Quarter.

The company has also revealed an artist’s impression of what the interior of the new restaurant will look like.

The Martin Brudnizki Design Studio is consulting on the brasserie’s interiors.

Notable features will include an onyx bar, pendant lighting, marble floor tiles, polished parquet panel flooring and leather banquettes. The firm also designed sister sites The Ivy Harrogate and The Ivy St Helen’s Square.

The Ivy Victoria Quarter area manager Laura Bamber said: “We’re very excited to be opening a brasserie in one of Leeds’ most iconic shopping and leisure destinatio­ns.

“Leeds is such a vibrant location, with an ever-changing food and drinks scene, and we can’t wait to become a part of this cosmopolit­an city when we open our doors this autumn.”

The Ivy in Covent Garden, close to London’s West End theatres, is housed in a stunning art deco building and is frequented by many celebritie­s.

One of the latest Ivy restaurant­s to open is in Temple Row, Birmingham.
