‘Everything in the EU garden is rosy’

-

IN 2016 the public were given the opportunity to vote in a referendum on our continued EU membership.

The votes were cast and counted and as they say the rest is history, sadly not for some however. Now we have Nigel Brook who has clearly not come to terms with the result. According to his recent letter the Remain campaign was mismanaged but the Leave campaign was fraudulent and manipulated by the Russians! Yes, you could not make this one up.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion however outrageous it may appear and can express that opinion. However it’s best if you don’t try to resort to name calling. If I had a penny for every time someone had made a pun or tried to ridicule my surname I would now be sitting on the Cote d’Azur with my Pina Colada.

Lastly Mr Brook talks of the world’s most successful trading block, that being the EU. Greece has had an eightyear financial bailout totalling 289bn Euros and still has a long way to go. Households have crippling debt repayments and they continue to have huge cuts in public spending. One in five people are unemployed while youth unemployment runs at 39.7%. Spain’s youth unemployment rate increased to 34% with a total of 3.5m people unemployed. Youth unemployment for Italy is running at 33% with an all-time high in 2014 of 43.5%. Yes, everything in the EU garden is rosy!
