Play starts at 10am, dress code applies and Almondbury Lib are the defending champions.

There is a Huddersfie­ld Works League meeting at Bradley and Colne on Monday (8pm start).

The meeting is to draw the Linthwaite CBC-sponsored Works Singles Handicap and the Broad Oak BC-sponsored Works Pairs Handicap preliminar­y rounds. ■■On Sunday, September 9, Almondbury Bowling Club are holding a fun bowling day.

It involves their own members, a group of ex-Huddersfie­ld rugby league players and other ex-rugby league players and starts at 11am.

Spectators are welcome and the bar and kitchen will be open.

The ex-players are being captained by one of the Almondbury members, Tony Finan, who played for Fartown in the 1960s (he was known as Tiger). ■■The final of the Ladies Pick Your Own Partner will be held at Golcar Lib on Wednesday, September 19 (12.45 start).
