Unacceptable behaviour occurs in civilised society

-

THE story of the “dog poison signs” at Prospect Road rec (Examiner, September 7), high -lighted perfectly society’s attitude to public spaces and the exercising of dogs therein.

Without even a hint of irony, the person responsible for apparently leaving poisoned doggy treats around the play area is attacked for the potential harm these treats would pose to the children enjoying the park.

Never mind the daily distribution of harmful treats delivered by the good burghers of Longwood as they queue up to ‘empty’ their dogs.

As with all urban green spaces, Prospect Road rec is one I would never walk across in the dark as it is a minefield of such ‘treats.’

It is time that abandoning dog excrement for someone else to ‘find’ is made unacceptable behaviour in a civilised society. rules that apply to all left wing causes.

1. You latch onto something that looks like your cause.

2. You make tremendous noise about it until you theoretically win.

3. You completely ignore the outcome when it has all gone belly up and move on to something else, making the false assumption that no-one will notice.

I’m afraid, Jean, you are going I NOTE further comments about patients missing appointments. This is disgraceful (Examiner, September 5).

I wonder if some of this is because appointments are too regularly being cancelled by the hospital without any explanation.

I have had three for the same clinic and I have a friend who has had four cancelled.

Perhaps the patients are being confused by all the frequent chopping and changing.

I was once blamed for asking for a change which I did not do. I got that sorted quite quickly.

Can we, the patient, have some consideration too, we have to change our own plans.

How many appointments are changed by the hospital without consultation with the patient?
